VRV, a nerd-culture and anime-focused streaming channel, needed surreal motion graphics that engaged their audience as commercial bumps, but could also act as graphic textures in apps and print.

Designed for the future, these clips were filmed with a Panasonic GH4 camera and delivered in 4K resolution. This way, the media would retain high definition for years to come as the brand grew and encountered new needs.

Over the span of two months in the summer of 2016, I filmed different areas of California: The Arts District / DTLA, Dockweiler Beach, LA River, Griffith Park, and the Deep Creek Hot Springs. By not only producing the VFX, but also the original footage, I was able to build what became an important element in directing the early days of the VRV brand.
