Product Design & Art Direction
Designed in Sketch, Prototyped in Principle: A 4-day case study on the idea of a dog walking community app. Weather, location, friends, social features — everything you need for a good dog walking experience.
Utility
You just woke up. You want to take your dog for a walk today. You open Wag, see the live weather, your friends who are out walking their dogs now, what the temperature is going to be like throughout the day, and anything your recently active friends have mentioned about their favorite spots. Then you get out of bed. THAT is utility.

Branding
Part of a good app experience is style cohesion and the best way to produce that effect is with a brand that represents itself consistently in various ways throughout the app. The logo, resembling a dog with a wagging tail and a letter W is the main communicator of the brand itself while the goldenrod yellow, reminiscent of a yellow retriever, appears as accent elements and larger color washes dictating important sections or interaction areas.
Animation
Apps can't just give you information and call it a day. That's a newspaper and that's boring. When you enter your password, if it's too short, you get an angry vacuum. If you're a good doggo and enter a longer, safer password, you get a tennis ball! It's even been pre-chewed... eww.
